While new to Barklandia, Kei has 7 years of professional dog training experience and began training dogs as a hobby long before that. He’s worked with dogs of a wide variety of breeds and ages, from 8 week old puppies to dogs over 10 years old. Originally, Kei began training professionally with a pet store chain in 2016, and he earned his Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) certification in 2020. Kei is also working toward additional certifications, and he regularly engages with continuing education opportunities like conferences and seminars to make sure he can bring the most up-to-date and effective training methods to his work. Using positive reinforcement, he helps dogs with building and improving skills like walking nicely on leash, politely greeting people, coming when called, and more. Outside of work, he spends time with his poodle mix, Lukas, and his two pet birds, and he likes writing and creating art in his spare time.

Our Day Training programs give doggies the opportunity to learn important skills and get additional mental stimulation during their daycare stays. Each full program includes 10 sessions, with the final session being a transfer session with the pet parent, so that you can be fully comfortable with keeping up with training at home.

Our In-Home Private Training is perfect for dogs who may need to start in an environment that’s a little quieter than the busy daycare setting. Your dog can start learning in the comfort of your own home, and you’ll also get to work more directly with the trainer! There’s also the added benefit of potentially being able to progress to practicing on walks in the neighborhood or in other environments, so that your dog can learn to apply their new knowledge to situations in the real world.
